Flavours of love

Love is a dangerous game! Really, this statement might sound unorthodox and paradoxical at a cursory glance, but it is a clear testimony that love does not emit only appetizing flavours. It usually brings forth some repulsive, distasteful and deadly spices to punctuate its earlier pleasurable taste. Factually speaking, love is an abstract double-faced coin that packages some bittersweet flavours for its candidates.
For example, love offers, at different times, both pleasure and displeasure; honey and vinegar; joy and sorrow; care and hatred; praises and abuses; thrill and trauma; compliments and condemnations; succour and insecurity; and above all, life and death to its victims. If Sandra had known that love is fraught with all these phenomenal contradictions, which are somewhat inextricably intertwined with it, she would have avoided love and all its agents, especially men, just like a menacing plague.
