Susan Barrett's "Fixing Shadows" was a wonderful find and an enthralling read - I found it hard to put down. The at-birth switch of baby sons has a longterm affect on characters both above and below stairs from Victorian England to 1944. Her research of 70 years of history is amazing, the dialogue feels so realistic and the story takes all kinds of twists and turns. I recommend this book highly to readers of historical and generational novels set in England. I shall be watching for another book by this brilliant writer.
