It was just one favor for a friend...

It all started innocently enough, as 14-year-old Nicky Russell set up her best friend Beth Ellen with a date for a friend's party. The next thing Nicky knows, all her classmates are swarming her between classes and on the phone at night, begging her to set them up, too! Not really knowing how to refuse, Nicky obliges. Soon, her "fix-up service," as her classmates begin to call it, takes up all her time, and she starts falling behind in her own work. Nicky also discovers that while her friends are happy when things work out, they're also quick to blame her when their dates don't turn out as expected... Thanks to the Fix-Up Service, Nicky's popularity rises. She makes new friends, and even finds herself nominated for class president.
