I have spent a small fortune on potty training books and movies, and this is the only thing my 2 year old son continues to love! I agree with the one review that it's NOT a good idea to show newly training kiddos pictures of other kids with a potty on their head (why do they all do this in every potty training book!?), but I solved the problem before it started. I taped that page shut, so my son would never see the potty on the head! Despite that I give it 5 stars because my son BEGS me to read it to him several times a day, every day. When he has a good day & i'm telling him what a big boy he is, he will proudly say "like Michael" or "like Sam" (the 2 boys in the book). The beauty part of this book is the 2 boys at 2 different stages. Michael is starting to train, uses a potty chair, and sometimes has accidents. Sam is a "big kid" who uses the big toilet and there's no mention of him having accidents. It's a nice reference that my son can understand. I can say "you had an accident, but that's ok. Michael has accidents too." or "one day you'll use the big toilet like Sam". He loves being compared to them, and really looks up to those "big boys". I highly recommend this book to anyone potty training a younger boy, but I do have to agree with the other reviewer that there aren't many girl references.
Daughter Loves It

I bought this book for my 15 month old daughter who is just beginning her bathrooming journey. She loves it! The real pictures of babies and toddlers keep her interested. I just bought it two days ago and we've read it more than 20 times (and she's used the potty for the first time too!). The pages are a great size for her, big, but still managable. She is constantly finding it and bringing it to me. I do wish that it had another girl pictured, as the main character and his older friend are both boys. There is one girl.
Fantastic potty-training book

I can't believe I'm the first reviewer. This book is terrific. It has photos of a real boy and a real girl using potties -- much more interesting than cartoons. It has a section on using the big boy toilet that shows a boy standing to urinate. It emphasizes washing hands. My only regret is that the photos are shy about showing the body parts used for these activities. My 18 month old has loved it for several months now. Good for jump-starting bathroom enthusiasm.
