Michael Chalinski wants to put the drunk driver who killed his wife and child behind bars. This is his driving ambition besides becoming a partner in his law firm One of his jobs is to train up and coming lawyers in court procedures. Claire Logan, a smart and brainy woman, is put under his tutalege. But she disturbs his statis quo. Especially emotionally and physically. He is also trying to make connection with his daughter, Angela. Yet it takes the understanding of a woman to help get through to his daughter. Angela has identity problems and not so nice friends. It takes practically the whole story before the drunk shows up in the story being held on another DUI and his case get handed over to Claire. This really blows Michael's mind and sabutages their budding relationship. She has already seduced a willing Michael and is hoping to get a commitment. It was an OK read but I was disappointed to find out that he was represented as a poor Catholic morally. Ah well.
