A Great History of Relief Pitching

Here is a fun and interesting book that is all about history. They never had history books like this when I was in school. Fireman teaches about the history of relief pitching in baseball and brings the reader from the early days of the game to today's one-inning closer. And it explains all the changes in the game that got us to this point. A fun and fascinating read.

Wonderful account

Of all Fran's books, this is his best to date. Covering the timeline to the modern day closer, interspersing history with wonderful interviews and facts, and bringing us to the current definition of closer - Fran does a super job of bringing it all together. I learned a lot from this book, and I am a big baseball fan to begin with. Probably the definitive work on the modern day closer. Pick it up.
