The best reference on American Fireboats

Ditzel knows the fire service well and brings one of the lesser known aspects into focus. Fireboats is the only book on this subject and due to its excellent coverage is unlikely to be challenged. The technical aspects of these highly sophisticated vessels are well documented, period phots are well seleccted as are stories of calls made by these boats and their brave crews. Now if we could only get an updated edition and one on European and Asian boats.
