The knowledge of the lands of the Book of Mormon has been a lively subject of discussion for many years, even centuries. Many people, including myself, have wondered just where the place is that Lehi and his little colony landed in the Americas. And long before this, where the Brother of Jared and his people also arrived. They came first, then the Mulekites, and later the Lehites, and yet they all may have lived in about the same place.The theory that I am proposing is based on many key points, which form the underlying basis for my beliefs. It has been an accepted theory for over 150 years that Mesoamerica is the place where the three groups landed and there have been many arguments given for this place. But even though I tried for most of my life to make that place fit the circumstances in Mormon's record, I finally gave it up and developed my own theory based on only what I could read in primary sources. The subtitle of this book is, A new look at the lands of the Book of Mormon and it is exactly that. I have carefully avoided most writings by scholars, professors, archeologists, historians, and writers who have gone before me and just looked at the simple facts as recorded in the text.This includes the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Pearl of Great Price and, yes, the Book of Mormon. Admittedly, I am taking much of it very literally and fully accept what has been said in these scriptures. Additionally, I have looked at statements by church general authorities, and in church history, histories of Europe and America and maps of North America to help me in my "new look."More than 30 maps are included in this work, which will help to show the theory I wish to explain in these pages. The location is completely different from any other theories you may have read about but, as you will see, it is very compelling.
