Outstanding Love Revelation
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
This is a book a Christian who has lost his/her first love or has lost their zeal for the Lord, must have in their library. It is an expanding version of the Book of Esther. Most of us who are Christians usually come to God with "give me" or "bless me" attitude instead of seeking with our whole heart the King Himself. This book is a "wake up and smell the coffee" type of book when it comes the relationship we have with the Lord Jesus but has lost because of our lack of focus and diligence. May those who read this book prepare their heart so they can find favor with the King of kings and Lord of lords; Jesus Christ, the Man!
Wonderful Read!

In this outstanding work author Tommy Tenney takes us on a journey, that if followed could change our lives and bring us to a place with the Lord that is breathtaking. He shares with us the story of Esther in the Bible and how she won favor with the King during her time. Using this as an example, Mr. Tenney challenges us to take the steps as Esther did to receive favor from our King, the Lord Jesus. His leading in instructions to achieve this goal are practical, Scriptural, and profoundly spiritual as you soon see that Esther was a true example for us to follow; and you realize you actually can obtain favor with the Lord if you are willing to pay the price that it will require. It really is not a hard price to pay, but a joy to do to achieve the favor of the One we love. To give an additional help, our author has a page at the end of the book that we may use as a reminder of what these protocols are. On this page are the, "Twelve Protocols of the Palace," Esther's secrets of finding favor with the King. I agree with my fellow reviewer; I'm hanging this on the wall as well. Thank you Mr. Tenney for such an encouraging read. Shirley Johnson Senior Reviewer MidWest Book Review
Intriguing Secrets to a Moment With God

Ever wonder how to get to that place where you feel so close to God that you know you have influence with Him? "Finding Favor with the King" by Tommy Tenney is a spiritual roadmap to that place. Tenney took the lovely story described in the book of Esther and related it to our personal journey to closeness with the Creator. The Book of Esther tells of how God placed a young Jewish maiden in the palace of King Xerxes I in preparation for her moment in history. She was able to save the entire Jewish race from annihilation. I have read the Book of Esther several times and have even written about Esther however Mr. Tenney opens up a new dimension and deeper teaching of this Old Testament book. I was intrigued as Mr. Tenney told of how each of the steps that took a peasant girl to queen and then to her moment of influence with the ruler of a nation are essential for each of us today as we move toward our moment of influence with the Ruler of the universe. I found the author's style of writing engaging and easy to read. Each chapter was a teaching in itself and opened the door for the next chapter. The book ends with a reminder list - the Twelve Protocols of the Palace - Esther's Secrets of Finding Favor With the King. I plan to post it on my wall.

Tommy Tenney provides context as he explores the ancient story of Esther from the Old Testament. The book can be summarized by the "Twelve Protocols of the Palace" in the back. In essence, it can be summed up even more by the principle of "seeking the King more than the palace." In this teaching, we're given an analogy between Esther's favor with Xerxes and our potential for favor with God. "Influence flows from intimacy," he tells us. As we seek God, the positive ramifications are limitless. Favor from God touches every area of our existence. The ending of the book drives home the point that complete victory comes from those who have God's favor. He describes the "switch" that took place in the story of Esther as the one who sought to eliminate the Jews (Haman) set the wheels in motion for his own destruction.
Finding Favor with the Kind

Another tremendous book by Tommy Tenney! He brings the story of Esther to life. Tenney tells about the one year process Esther endured for one night with the King. Esther sought to please only the King. She sought the King not the King's wealth. Tenney used the story of Esther to show us if we seek the Giver not the Gift we win the heart of God!
