This may be the best category romance I've ever read.

This is the story of Quin Ellis, Mac McEwen, and Quin's nine-year-old daughter, Cady. Cady is also Mac's daughter, something the rest of us know almost from the beginning but that Mac doesn't realize until well into the story. This story is a romance in its purest form. There is no murder mystery, no chase scenes, no outside forces propelling the story forward. Mac and Quin - the depth of their personalities - are what drive this story so beautifully. The secret baby plot is all too popular in category romance. This one, however, stands head and shoulders above the rest. One big reason is that Quin admits, from the beginning that she made a terrible mistake. She was 100% wrong to withhold Cady's existence from Mac and she knows it. Not once does she deny her own blame or try to shift the fault onto Mac's shoulders. How refreshing! The dilemma comes quickly when Quin realizes she is still attracted to - is probably very much in love with - Mac. She can keep her silence and pursue the love affair; or she can tell him the truth and face the very real danger of losing him...this time for good.Quin and Mac are exceptionally vivid characters. We see their struggles and we want them to have their happiness. These characters were so real to me that I felt as if I could go to Camp LeJeune and find them living their lives. Not one word in this book is wasted. Every single sentence is vital to the internal struggles Mac and Quin face and overcome. For pure undiluted romance, do not miss the chance to read this book.
