Excellent Medical Thrilling, Page-Turner

When Dr. Jack Hunt moves from Ireland to a new job at a Chicago hospital, he believes it will be the upward career move he's been looking for. But despite his groundbreaking research in cardiology, he doesn't seem to mesh with the right people, probably because he's not the kind of man who compromises. As far as Jack's concerned, it's his way or the highway. So when a bullet meant for him kills his boss instead, Jack might not have been the best man to fill the dead man's shoes, because he doesn't understand the commercial realities of clinical medicine, but he got the promotion and a hefty three hundred grand a year to go with it. When he cancels all hospital deals with drug companies, it comes at a bad time for the hospital, because they'd just made a deal with Zemdon, a multinational drug company, to help launch its new cardiac wonder drug, Cyclint. Now he's really made somebody angry, his son is assaulted, his car is trashed, a researcher at the hospital dies mysteriously and then Jack fails a drug test and is finally fired. But he doesn't take it lying down, he decides to take on Zemdon and finds that exposing them is going to put him in the fight of his life. Final Duty is a medical thrilling page-turner that I liked very much.
