What is it like to drop in on a living and functioning society going through its daily life and annual cycles? What is it like to be a Bedouin toddler on steroids? As I re-read my field (almost) daily log, or record, I was intrigued by the transition from my initial infantile attempts to construct a social map of the community (who is whom and how are they related?), to later, when more complex and complete stories emerged, how these generated a living image of the Arab al-Hjerat as a community between 1975 and 1977.
