Entertaining, suspenseful thriller; thoroughly good read!

This is a fast-paced thriller that roams the globe, tying together such diverse elements as nuclear testing in Maralinga, Australia in the 1950's and the recent Gulf War. The book's timely tie-in of horrifying biological weapons and the minds that make and use them adds suspense to what is already a page-turner with strong characters, vivid locations, and surprising plot twists. Our hero, operative August Riley, is a tough and quick-thinking but likeable and vulnerable everyman, whose task is to track down a mole who has been leaking information to Iraq. All the characters are strongly drawn (women, too--refreshing in a book of this genre).A well-written book and a thoroughly good read!(By the way, Field of Thunder is not by Rose Flem as listed, but by Rose Flem-Ath, the co-author of the internationally successful book about Atlantis, "When the Sky Fell").
