This is a very entertaining book on many levels. It's funny, entertaining, and impressive with its superb and clever graphics. It may be a book for youngsters, but it can be thought provoking on an adult level with themes of loneliness, superficiality, and belonging. This is a book that will entertain the kids and bear rereading by the parent. It's a slice of cheesecake, richness and satisfaction found in a small package.
Slender but entertaining

Even though I'm an adult and have no children of my own, I enjoy "kid's books." I bought "Fenwick's Suit" on the strength of the few illustrations I saw. The illustrations are great. They recall a New York of the 1930s. Fenwick, the title character is an odd-looking, nondescript "little man" (If they ever made a movie based on this, Bill Irwin would be perfect for Fenwick). Unhappy with his apparent lack of popularity, Fenwick goes for a "cosmetic" change - a striking new suit. But the suit wears him instead of him wearing it. There's a great section near the end full of clothing-related puns. The only thing that disappointed me was that at the end, Fenwick doesn't seem to have learned from his escapade. But maybe in that way he is all the more realistic...
Good...yet childish

I think that this was a good book, but some parts repeated itself, I would recommend this to a elementary or middle school child!
