MOVE OVER DILLARD AND UPDIKE

I'd never heard of Duncan until a well-read, well-bred friend "highly recommended" this new author. Annie Dillard and John Updike included, seldom have I read such powerful prose. Add to that incisive wit, profound human and spiritual insight, and a compelling story, and you've got a winner. I burned the midnight oil to get through this inspiring novel the first time, then immediately read it again slowly to savor the sheer lyrical beauty of the language and subtle nuances of plot. I thank my friend for turning me on to this great novel. And, like her, I highly recommend Duncan to you.

"Feather In The Wind" By J.D.H. Duncan

I was so taken by this books quality of writing, it absolutely mesmerized me. The beautiful artform of writing that this author proves in this novel is so descriptive and lovely. I felt as Wesley Emanuel Smith did, slipping myself into his shoes as he struggled with despiration, and then turning to God. I found this faith completely inspirational in my own life that without hesitation I would recommend this book for anyone. Truly I believe That J.D.H. Duncan is an uprising author destined to become famous, his tallent is so above all others. This novel is so heartwarming that I would read it over and over. Personally, I feel that J.D.H. Duncan is the finest author of our time.

My copy is orange with highlighted phrases.

Forever, I've had the habit of highlighting poignant phrases in whatever I read. Now, after reading Feather in the Wind, my copy is practically orange with highlights. This book is chock full of interesting and profound, unusual and touching literary jewels. For instance, on page 139, "He screamed. It was a cry more wild, more mournful and lonesome than that of any wolf, and it pierced the night air and roamed the dark countryside in unrequited pursuit of an answering call." Doesn't that grab you?Author J.D.H. Duncan definitely has a way with words and expressions that sets him apart. This romance novel provokes both tears and laughter as it takes you through the incredible trials and tribulations of an ordinary man living an extraordinary life of pain and love all mixed up with humor and hope and lessons in life. Just read the book, and don't forget your highlighter pencil!

Fictional Phillip Yancey

Though J.D.H. Duncan writes fiction, he reminds me of Phillip Yancey. Neither is afraid to be real or actually question why. Feather in the Wind churns up emotions we all feel but are afraid to acknowledge.

COMPELLING & INSIGHTFUL

THIS NOVEL IS A SLEEPER WAITING TO BE DISCOVERED BY MORE PEOPLE. WELL-PACED & GORGEOUSLY WRITTEN, DON'T START IT LATE AT NIGHT UNLESS YOU PLAN TO GO WITHOUT SLEEP. I KNOW THIS NEW AUTHOR, AND HIS WORK HAS ALREADY BEEN SELECTED TO APPEAR ALONGSIDE THE LIKES OF STEINBECK & DILLARD IN ANOTHER NEW BOOK, INKING THROUGH THE SOUL.
