Jewish immigrant /Jewish American

This book is written with the power of truth, in the style of Barry Lyndon. It is a story of New York, and the movement west to find a better life of so many immigrants to this country. This book is as passionate as a novel by Hemingway, as honest as a Steinbeck and has many of the best of all authors. I found it disturbing and moving and it illuminated my knowledge of the jewish american history in america. This book is an american treasure and should be enjoyed with the same thought for knowledge of history as one would enjoy the Grapes of Wrath..
