The War Amongst The Jews

Roberta Feurerlicht's book, `The Fate Of The Jews,' is like a breath of fresh air in a smoke filled room. She is one of the very FEW Jewish authors who is willing (i.e., brave enough) to challenge the Zionists' prevalent, conventional wisdom by writing about the moral legacies of the diaspora Jews and their centuries-old adherence to an `ETHICAL IMPERATIVE (regardless of being victimized and persecuted by racist anti-Semites); and how that defining Jewish ETHIC - that successfully preserved the Jewish people (as an ethnic group) from extinction for thousands of years -- is now perilously, and hypocritically, being sacrificed (compromised) on a modernistic, secular (quasi-Jewish supremacist) altar of Zionist-Israeli power. In the late 1940s, President Harry Truman wrote a note to former First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, offering his perspective, as President, concerning the controversial issues revolving politically around the establishment of a `homeland' for the Jewish People in Palestine (i.e., Israel). In his note Truman stated: "Jews are like all underdogs. When they get on top, they are just as intolerant and cruel as the people were to them when they were underneath." 1 This is the essence (purpose) of Ms Feuerlicht's book, `Fate Of The Jews,' which deals with this little known perspective! Her scholarly quest is NOT to provide credibility for anti-Semites (thus justifying excuses for the persecution and annihilation of Jews -- past, present, & future), but to provide the requisite -- long overdue -- ethical `pangs' at the souls of good and decent Jews everywhere. What Ms Feuerlicht tries to evoke from her readers is this: what will be the `fate' of the Jewish people when they - as a nation (Israel) -- resort to the Machiavellian tactics (i.e., the ends justify the means) by perpetrating EVIL (i.e., criminal acts and war crimes, collateral damage to whatever extent), for which they - the Jews - have condemned other nations for doing! What is the FATE of the Jewish `ethical imperative' that once defined and preserved the identity of the Jewish people for thousands of years? Is its greatest existential threat going to come from the "ubiquitous" anti-Semites of the world . . . or from the myopic, power-hungry Zionists willing to risk a new `Masada' by flexing renewed brawn and muscle, in pre-emptive offensive tactics to expand Israel's borders, by confiscating Palestinian lands (`occupied territories'), all under the guise of `defending' Israel's national security? FATE OF THE JEWS is an excellent read that offers an interesting perspective regarding the moral and political `civil wars' being waged AMONGST the Jews and NOT against them -- written, no less, by an author whose maternal family perished in the Holocaust!
