What a pleasure this book was to read. I thouroughly enjoyed reading about Kate's struggles and successes in life and feel truely inspired having read her story. This is a very warm and easy book to read and I think most of us can relate to it in some fashion. I was able to easily connect to things that have happened in her life and after having read this story I felt very positive and upbeat about who I am as a woman and how far I've come in life. I have accepted the person I am today, just as Kate has. I had the pleasure of knowing Kate in high school, am so very proud of her work and have already recommended this book to others as a "must read".

Fat Chicks Float Well is a touching life-story about a girl who grew up in Portland's affluent westside. After years of tight and somewhat dysfunctional control, she was able to break free from the chaos that was her life and seek out her true passion for swimming. Through her love for the water and her own personal athletic achievements spawned a woman, strong at will with a heart full of love. Empowered by her own achievements and failures alike, she was able to follow her heart to help others help themselves by uncovering their own abilities buried just below the surface of their own being. This book culminates with the author's success with self-actualization, and she wants you to understand the secrets to making this happen for you. This book is an easy read about self-fulfillment, and the importance of keeping everything in proper perspective as we continue our float down our own river of life.
