The pictures are very nicely done, all in a wood-cut flavor like the cover. The animals are mostly realistic and hearty rather than anthropomorphic or fake-looking. The pictures are well done and interesting, compensating for the repetitive lyrics (which children love anyway of course).I expected the song to be "Old MacDonald", but it is actually the one that goes something like "I bought a cat and the cat pleased me, I fed my cat by yonder tree, the cat goes fiddle-i-fee..." and so on, adding sounds for each new animal. My only problem was there isn't a sheet music page, so you're on your own with the music part.
