Far From Home

I was impressed by the condition of the book since I had never bought a used book before. Will be buying a lot more used books in the future. Far From Home was a good story.

but not lost....

I don't know what Georgia Bockoven is doing these days but I wish she would begin writing novels again. I enjoy all of her books. This story was engaging from the very first few pages wrapping the reader up within the tight knit group of neighbors in picturesque Mendicino. Each one helping and caring about one another and growing in understanding love, trust and hope. The character development is thorough of the two main protagonists, Adam and Miranda. Ms Bockoven gives you a very satisfying read while teaching life lessons and showing that truly sincere, honest love in it's many forms and ages is so much better than selfishness and pride.

Great book full of hope and love!

This is the first book by Georgia Bockoven I have read and it certainly will not be the last! . In the depths of sorrow, a light glimmers, shines forth and enables Miranda Dolan to break out of her hellish darkness and heal. After Miranda's attempted suicide by flinging herself off of a cliff, she is rescued by Adam Kirkpatric, whereby she is forced to confront her anger at being alive. Miranda, with Adam's helps, is able to realize that she is not guilty nor is she responsible, for the horrific tragedy that befell her. It is with Adam's caring and kindness and eventual love for Miranda, which allows Miranda to heal both emotionally and physically as well as to eventually love again.The author has an amazing way of embracing one of life's tragedies, and letting the reader feel the raw, vulnerable emotions of the characters, as if they were one's own. I found the characters believable, as well as the tragic situation believable and felt the despair, which permeated most of this story. Yes, the romantic twist held my attention, but to me, that was not the main focus of this story. Life hurts at times, and we can wallow in it and lose ourselves or we can let love in and heal - and love can come to us by various different angels!Wonderful book full of hope and love! Now to find more of the author's books!

another great romance by bockoven

Georgia Bockoven writes about romance with a twist--it matches real-life a bit more than most. It is not straight fiction--she still writes a romance novel.But this one, like her others, touches your emotional buttons better, because she talks about the tragedies that befall us from time to time, letting us share it with the characters.We also get to share in true love with them, which admittedly does not wander in real life much, but I submit it does exist. She knows what these things are all about, I think. Tragedy and love.This book, like her others, in the end shows that love has the power to subsume even life's greatest tragedies. That's a pretty neat trick, because when you live through tough times, its hard to remember that.Most romances carry you off to a fairy tale world. Bockoven's carry you off to your memories. Some are sad, as the tale reminds you of personal tragedy. But in the end, your memories of love are what stands out. Or, your current feelings of love, as the case may be.Great book!

This book was great and held my attention for great romance.

This book showed all the emotions of loosing thoes you love and finding love again even when you feel that you don't deserve it again. This is one book for all those hopeless romance fanaticts that will get you lost in one of the perfect whirwind romances.
