Great storytelling/puppetry resource for librarians/teachers
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 14 years ago
I have used this book as a children's librarian for over ten years. It is a wonderful resource for learning how to present shadow and rod puppet plays. The instructions for making a shadow puppet screen are easy to understand and the materials used can be found in any hardware store for very little money. A number of scripts based on folktales are included and I have used the same scripts using shadow puppets as well as hand and rod puppets. Each play includes production notes and additional books for children that tell similar stories. The scripts are simple yet exciting enough for children to create the puppet plays themselves. All of Judy Sierra's storytelling and puppetry books are worth purchasing by every librarian and teacher.
