surprisingly funny!

This book is adorable. I read it for my freshman French class and I find it delightful. Fanny is the story of a 1930's Marseillaise girl who is confronted with a lot of tough decisions. Surprisingly enough, though, for such serious themes the book is filled with comedy between the people in Fanny's life. The bickering old men, the hilarious postman, her dramatic mother, and so many more characters. It's truly a wonderful book.
