Richie's Picks: FANCY THAT!

Back in my preschool teaching days, Pamela Allen was one of my favorites from the hundreds of illustrators to whom I exposed my students. Pamela's rollicking stories are always so joyful. FANCY THAT!, a perfect lead-in to a unit on eggs or chickens, or life cycles, is one I read at least 100 times. It is surprising that as Pamela continues to win all sorts of awards in her native Australia, parents and teachers in the States continue to miss the Boat.

Lovely noisy book for toddlers about hen hatching her eggs

This book is a joy to read to toddlers. It is as noisy as you want it to be. Bright illustrations and lots of 'tuk tuk tuk' sounds as the hen waits for her eggs to hatch. A classic book from a New Zealand author.
