I feel sorry for the author

I never read the book, so I can't really talk about it obviously nor give less than a 5 as it would hurt the store. In fact, I'm sure the story is excellent and I may borrow it from the library one day to read. I'm more or less posting this review as a warning to Herb himself (since from other reviews I can see him and his family see this page). I attended a book signing where Herb and two other authors spoke about their first-time experiences with writing and getting published. Upon returning home that night I was horrified to see on Wikipedia that Herb's "publisher" isn't as legit as they say. If he or any doubtful prospective authors don't believe me, just do a google search for a book by the name of "Atlanta Nights" not because I'm recommending that you read that book (in fact, I recommend that you don't), but to read the story of how that book came to be. It's really scary.

Couldnt Put it Down!

I may be biased, but I enjoyed the book immensely. I was stuck in a Detroit airport for 8 hours - reading the book cover to cover made it seem like 20 minutes.

Great Book, fantastic read!

I read the book not knowing what to expect, I couldn't put it down! I read the entire book in sitting 5 hours straight. It has to based on a true story, there are too many details and it sounds a little too real, thats all I can figure. I live in Jersey and it sounds like Jersey, in fact everything about it is totally Jersey. Forget about the Soprano's, this reads like a real story about real people who for whatever reason (probably money) became corrupt and subverted a system and an entire state. I was very impressed, I would definitely recommend the book now that I am done I am going back to reading Hunter S. Thompson. It is really sad that guy killed himself, a great loss.
