One of my favourite romance stories of all time!

Fallen Angels is a well crafted story that will have you turning the pages until you get to its wonderful conclusion. It's such a lovely story with a strong female character caught between duty and desire, beset by danger and intrigue, facing betrayal from those she trusts. For those used to the usual Bernard Cornwell stories, this one will come as a surprise. For me it was a welcome one, but I have to admit that I prefer a well written romance novel to a historical war story. At the same time, unlike the run of the mill romance novel, this is written with a light touch on the romance; indeed for much of the novel it's not clear if there is a love-match. I first read it three years ago and I find myself going back to read whole sections of it again and again. Really such a graceful story. I couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Good Gift!

I ordered this as a gift for someone who had it on his Christmas list. It arrived quickly, and it looks great! Thank you.

Great Read

I couldn't put this book down! It was great! I classify it as spy novel with a romance interest. Loved it! Am disappointed to see Cornwell and Kells have not continued to write books together.

Spellbinding page-turner

This is one book that kept me captivated from the first page to its climatic, and surprising end. Ms. Kell leaves nothing to the imagination with her vivid, rather gruesome account of the attrocities of the French Revolution... not to mention edge-of-your-seat intrigue and romance. The ending alone is worth reading all the way through.

From the first paragraph I was spellbound.

What I loved most about The Fallen Angels was that I was delightfully surprised at the action oriented mystery of the piece. The characters are well thought out and dynamic.Good characters are virtuos while evil characters are as sinister and seething as one gets. Ms. Kells manages to capture in wonderful detail all of the savage imagery that we associate with the period of the French Revolution.A tremendous swashbuckling read from start to finish. I only wish that she had chosen to write more.
