A Must Read For Anyone Who Wants To Wake Up To Freedom

Fall Into Freedom has the potential to help millions of women awaken from the confusion and heal the pain caused by the trauma of infidelity. What is more, it has the wisdom to save women (and men) from the serious relationship problems that lead to crises. Simultaneously raw and gut-wrenching, poetic and illuminating, Weitzel journeys the peaks and valleys of thoughts and feelings that teach her what freedom really is: self truth. In her passion for seeking, finding, and telling the truth, Weitzel guides the reader on a path of enlightenment that is both refreshing and startling. For her story contains deep understandings that guide us out of denial into truth. She experiences a psychological and spiritual transformation by pioneering a philosophy of love (understanding, forgiveness, compassion) relatable to how we all want to be loved. Although some of the subject matter is destined to create controversy, I believe Fall Into Freedom and its three keys to happiness are a `must read' for anyone who wants to `wake up' to freedom.

A deeply moving personal testimony of the long, hard road to healing.

Fall Into Freedom: An Affair Inspires One Woman's Search for Truth is the true-life story of the author's shock and pain upon learning that her husband was having an affair. Having struggled to cope with his increasing distance, harshness, and misery for so long, she was in a quandary with how to handle mood swings and the dissolution of love in her marriage, all the while looking after her children. She embarked on a six-month spiritual journey in search of the answer to "What is love?" and in the process discovered enlightenment, as well as a philosophy to free herself from fear. A deeply moving personal testimony of the long, hard road to healing.

A Courageous Journey from Fear into the Light

Author Diana Marie Weitzel's world was comfortably defined as "all-American family of four living in an ideal house and neighborhood" until John, her husband of 18 years, told her in a bar that he was in love with someone else. Weitzel describes the summer of 1987 as "the most terrifying time of my life. Into the tunnel of darkness I fell. Still, in the moments my mind found peace, an inner voice let me know that as long as I let love guide me, I would somehow survive." While Weitzel's retreat into a darkened room was punctuated by moments of hope and moments of confrontation with her husband, "spontaneous meditation" and automatic writing revealed that freedom lay at the end of an initiatory journey to discover her true self. "Fall Into Freedom" chronicles both the slings and arrows of a marriage on the rocks and an individual's quest from fear into the light. Answering the overarching question "Why?" takes Weitzel into multiple arenas--how upbringing, family dynamics and personal goals brought her into a comfortable marriage with John that ended up as a deadly embrace; how the patriarchy of the church that traditionally defines women as second class individuals impacts the institution of marriage; how society's worship of money, power, and sex co-opts women into subservient roles in and out of their personal relationships. Readers who followed Sue Monk Kidd on her search for her feminine soul in "The Dance of the Dissident Daughter" (1996) will recognize in "Fall Into Freedom" the journey of a kindred spirit, a woman escaping from the heavy weight of patriarchy and ill-defined gender roles into the stratosphere of the transcendent self. This journey, which follows the classic initiatory path of wisdom literature, affords the determined seeker on the path the opportunity of confronting all of her insecurities, dependencies, denials and other false beliefs and illusions en route to discovering the "three keys to happiness," understanding, forgiveness and compassion. The initiation at hand here, as described by Peter Dawkins and Sir George Trevelyan in "The Pattern of Initiation" (1981), "is simply an expansion of consciousness of the soul and a gradual perfecting of the nature of beauty and gentleness." With the support of her two daughters, Weitzel freed herself from fear by facing herself within the wise mirror of the Universal Spirit. Her grit, trials and ultimate understandings comprise a compassionate roadmap for us all.

Inspirational

Fall Into Freedom is one woman's powerful journey from the depth of despair, grief, and abandonment into the light. Her quest for freedom from fear and her soul's purpose gives the reader a new perspective on how each of us can become part of the Universal Spirit, and discover the larger plan for our own lives. I enjoyed it immensely!
