Taking God at His Word

I have recently become a book enthusiast especially on topics of faith, God, Christian walk etc. I particularly liked this book for its simple yet profound message: Do not let your feelings get in the way of Gods Word. Ney is an excellent author with a great message. Her stories are entirely personable and you immediately grow to love her and respect her. Her style is easy to read but hard to put down. Her life is a testimony that Faith in Gods Word is stronger then any feeling we may have or any circumstance we are faced with. I am recommending this book to my friends. There is already a list of those who want to read it!!!!EXCELLENT!!

Excellent encouragement

Ney Bailey's "Faith is Not a Feeling" is a wonderful book, full of Ney's hard won personal experience in faith. Ney is a great teacher because she has learned about faith through incredibly difficult times - such as barely surviving a horrific flood. Each journey in her life reveals God's faithfulness and His willingness to teach us how to live in faith. While I was reading this book, I felt like Ney was my older sister and we were just chatting together about the Lord and His ways. Awesome! Ney's style is really personable and she ends each chapter with a cliffhanger, so don't pick this book up unless you have time to read it all the way through. The most important thing I got out of this book is to trust not only God's promises, but also to trust the God that MADE those promises. His Word is true because HE is true. I can have faith because HE is faithful. Definitely a must read for anyone interested in learning more about faith.

Has influenced my life

This book made an impression when it was first published as I was in the Big Thompson Canyon a couple of weeks before the flood that Ms. Bailey survived and about which she wrote. I subsequently heard the news of the disaster, then heard Ms. Bailey speak at a church, and finally read this book years ago. The book helped set my mind in a way that subsequent years and the difficulties of life have been un-overwhelming, as the Love of Christ overwhelmed them.

Excellent

One of the best books I have ever read. I've re-read it many times over the years.

For those dark and painful periods in our lives

Ney Bailey shares stories from her past to encourage us to step beyond whatever we may be feeling at the present moment and trust in God and His control. She writes about feelings of self-pity, unforgiveness, pride, and utter despair. Through it all we can put our faith in Jesus Christ and grow more like Him.
