Stories are taken from those told to preschoolers to help them learn about modern topics without the over kill of most books written to introduce these topics to youngsters. Rapunzel picks a gay partner and no where in the story is this brought up as anything unusual. Kids don't need to be hit on the head to get a point. My kids favorite is the Ugly Duckling who chooses NOT to go back to the swans as the ducks took him in and accepted him with love. When he grows up, he stays with the family that is "ugly" but loving. The three little pigs brings up how different religions can work together (and includes an atheist pig). You can fumble through your explanations, or find a book written to over kill on the subject, or use these stories for introducing your family to the values of a good open and caring family and society.
