From the author of The Wolf Shall Dwell with the Lamb comes a book of dailydevotions selected from the Revised Common Lectionary. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Over the past 3 years I have found the Disciplines devotions consistently thoughtful and spiritual. Usually they touch the common texts for the upcoming week and prepare one well for worship the next Sunday. The prayers and suggestions for thought are often helpful. Entries seem to be written by people from many Protestant traditions and all walks of life.

I find this book provides a good structure around which to build a daily "quiet time." Good scripture selections . . .usually leading to a further exploration of the context. Commentaries from different authors provide insight and perspective. Prayer suggestion gives good framework upon which to enlarge, or just enough to be a thoughtful conclusion to the daily reading.

I've only had this book a few days, but already I can tell that it will be a wonderful devotional aid for the entire year. I like the fact that each week follows a different theme, and that the themes come from the lectionary. This is a great book; I highly recommend it to those looking for devotions with some "meat" in them.

This book is referred to in Dr Bob and the Good Old Timers on page 151. I have been reading it for years and almost always get something out of the daily readings. This is a significant tool in my recovery.
