Don't miss this

Lovely prose, wonderful characters and an entertaining plot mark this terrific light romance. I have to re-read this every so often - Darrell's family, their sacrifices for doomed King Charles and his love for Charity, virtually imprisoned in her Roundhead cousin's household, make a great tale. And you can follow it up with Spring Will Come Again, where Darrell and Charity finally overcome the evil machinations of her cousin Jonas and meet another fun hero who's the star in The Changing Tide, a great pirate yarn. Then you can finish with A Flash of Scarlet, where Charity is imprisoned for witchcraft. She's accused by Jonas' grieving, vindictive mother and the Puritan priest in the village. Some of my favorite historical fiction.
