When a councilman is found with a bullet hole in his head, Sheriff Bill Tatum knows this was no hunting accident. And after nearly losing his life to his corrupt predecessor, Tatum has his doubts about everyone's innocence.
In the second Mineral County mystery, former Deputy Sheriff Bill Tatum ( if you read the first, you'll know why he's the sheriff ) finds a councilman shot in the high country during hunting season. Was it an accident or murder? I really like the character of Bill, a young former Army sniper, still trying to learn the ropes on the investigating part of being a sheriff. Mr. McNamara really gives you a great feel of living in a small Colorado mountain town. From the different type of folks that call Belmont home, to great descriptive writing of the outdoors. I really enjoyed both books in this series. I hope he decides to contiue the adventures and mishaps of Sheriff Tatum.
