An objective glance...

I came across this title used while looking for resources on Irish mythology. I remember when the title was published by in the 1990s with much fanfare from the publisher. Llewellyn had an odd habit of promoting titles from its subjective view. In other words, if the author says so, it must have been true! Look back at many titles from the earlier offerings from previous decades. Many of them are laughable! They have grown up somewhat in the meantime, yet many of these titles remain and endure. This one seems to hang around. Frankly, its not so bad. The cover art is questionable, yet attractive. Its the title that frightens me. Anytime the word Wicca comes into play, I laugh. The very name suggest "pop-witchcraft". In this case the title kills the messenger for many. I read most of it and liked what I found. There is very little material concerning Celtic mythology in print. This has some good information within. Half of the problem comes from the source-channeled information. There is nothing wrong with this, as long as it is not passed off as historic fact. The author tells about her material being "whispered to her from the faery realm". It is not an "ancient oral tradition". The faeries may speak to individuals, yet not just in Ireland, the world over. The legends are potent. So is the magic. The author should revise the work with some honesty and integrity, not to say it was her fault-Llewellyn hype. A second edition is needed, with the word Wicca taken out of the title. "Faery Magic, Legend and Lore" would do it justice. Otherwise this is a great study guide and resource book for those with a connection to this path.

Just wonderful

I have both Faery Wicca books and the tarot cards. I LOVE them. I have found them inspiring and personal. Every question I have is answered chapter by chapter. For critics I ask - which Faery Faith are you talking about, which aspect of Wicca are you talking about? The Celtic countries stretched from Ireland to the old Eastern block countries (eg. Czech Republic). Kisma does well to extract from a wide source of information (ALL referenced mind you!)information most relevant to Irish Celtic Paganism. I am saddened by the harsh words and the attacks. As with anything, take a look at these books and see for yourself, if they speak to you, you will find them intense and full of passion. I have found them life changing.

Do you walk in the love of the Faery?

I am amazed as I read the reviews for this book. Happening to own this book I am astounded by some of the claims being made. One is that the use of other authors quotes is not credited. That is not true! Look you will see them at the end of the chapters and at the end of the book. Secondly, that this is not real Irish Faery Faith. Now coming from modern Americans this is a laugher. How do they know? Let me tell you what I found in these books! I found an author who has brought forth the best of what the Pagan/Wiccan religions have to offer! This being learning to walk one's pathway in love and oneness with the God and Goddess and all of creation! This book teaches one how to open up to this! Can those who criticize claim the same? I pity them, for they are not walking this pathway when they put falsehoods in their reviews and make false claims they can not stand behind. This is a book that projects the real thrust of the Pagan/Wiccan religions. Not the "Pastische" put forth in some "reviews" posted by those claiming to know what real Pagan/Wiccan religions are about! Their actions and words speak volumes and so do Kisma Stepanich's! THis is a must have for any real professing Wiccan/Pagan!!! Buy it and open up to the wonderful energy offered by the Faery! Critics can claim all they want, but they can't take away the experiences you will have by using this book! Buy it! It is a must have!

very informative

This book is great for learning about Faery Wicca. I highly recommend it to those that are curious about the faery faith.

Buy iy, you'll like it!

This is a well written book! The Faery-Faith is an ancient tribal religion. As with any religion there are many ways to work within it! Look at the Native American and Christian religions to see the many branches of the same pathway! For a modern american to claim this is not real is sort of ridiculous to me! After all, it is thousands of years old and from Ireland! Think about it! Try this wonderful book! Read it and see if it helps you as it has helped me! Five Stars!
