Excellent book!

I bought this book for my husband for Valentine's Day because it was about two things he loves: football and war~! He loved the book! Great writer!

Fading Echoes

This was purchased as a gift for my children who attended Doylestown high schools but now live States away. It was like coming home through the pages of the book. I have recommended this to many people, who in turn have ordered it, recommended it and created more sales of Fading Echoes. Even in-laws who know nothing of the local characters, have found this to be well worth reading.

Two People--One Goal

Fading Echoes tells the story of Bryan Buckley and Colby Umbell. They both played high school football against each other in Pennsylvania. Then both made the decision to join the sservice. The first half of the book deals with their high school careers and the second half with their military careers. I enjoyed it!

Highly recommend

This is a very well written glance at two boys growing into men, how the disapline of football influenced that growth and how their military challenges were met. It follows their connections from football in middle school, where they played together through the competitive years as cross town rivals, then into college and their military careers. Both boys were deeply influenced by Sept 11 and needed to be active with their responses. It provides a unique insight into some of the drivers for both Colby and Bryan. It also paints them as very human, young men searching for their paths through life and how their football experiences helped them through life's challenges. Highly recommended because of this special insight into the stories about the lives of our nation's heros.

The Best of America

This book and it's author bring to you what is great about the people of this country. Children who are raised by parents who instill in them what is good and bad, right and wrong. And raise them to make choices as adults that bring out the best in themselves. But it is also about the people we surround our children with, who influence their lives in a positive way. We raise them, teach them and let them go. These children we raise choose their paths by the example that has been set and these two boys did both their families and their country proud.
