New edition of George Thompson's classic work on Utah's most famous lost gold mine: The Lost Rhoades Mine. Mormon Gold? Lost Spanish Gold? Sacred Indian Gold? Fairy tale or myth, Thomas and Caleb... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Great telling and collection of old Utah mine and gold legends. The author had a very engaging style and walked the walk of and adventurer/prospector. It has pointed me in the direction of new trails and adventure many times. A great source of history behind the legends from a decendant of Pick Murdoch. Tragically George died in a car crash so this is the end of his great writing and work.
Tales of gold and ghosts well worth the read.

George Thompson has written a treasure of tales about northeastern Utah's long-forgotten gold mines. Thompson's unique style will fascinate and entertain the reader as stories of greed for gold, Indian legends, Spanish miners and pioneer prospectors weave a tangled web of mystery and intrigue. Although this book raises more questions than it answers about hidden riches in the Utah mountains, it is nonetheless an enjoyable read with a bonanza of interesting photos and illustrations.
