FACADE rocks!!

FACADE is another shining example of Patricia Rasey's talent to blend dark, chilling suspense with smoldering, sexy romance. Add to that a "whodunnit" that had me suspecting everyone but the real killer, and you have a real winner of a read! As if the tightly-plotted and expertly-executed mystery weren't enough, Ms. Rasey throws in a forbidden love romance between a tough crime scene investigator (KC) and the sherrif's sultry, all-grown-up daughter (Sharalee) that practically burns up the page.As I said on my review of THE HOUR BEFORE DAWN, I'll say it again here. When is some smart publisher going to snatch up this author and print her in mass market paperback?! She'll give all the big names a run for their money. Write on, Ms. Rasey -- you ROCK!!

The Sheriffs daughter is back in town

The Sheriffs daughter is back in town. And boy has she grown up! The first one to notice the change is his Deputy Sheriff, KC Tanner. Tanner had watched her grow up most of his life but he's not ready when she returns home from college. She has transformed into a beautiful and sexy woman. And it's all he can do to make sure he stays away from his best friends little girl. But Sharalee's the new Victims Advocate. And now he finds himself teamed up with her when a serial killer starts stalking his small town. While KC tracks down his leads, Sharalee has to follow him into the tattered lives of the families that have been left behind. She has to help them cope with their loss while he finds the killer who took their loved ones away. Sharalee's serious about her work but she can't forget the love she's carried for KC since she was a little girl. Nor can she ignore the fact that KC continues to treat her like a child. A situation she's trying her best to change. What follows is a tense and sexually fueled joy ride that takes them both from one crime scene to another. Each one more horrific than the next. While they try to figure out just who and why a serial killer is killing off some of the town folks. When the killer strikes too close to home, they both realize they need each other more than ever to get through this nightmare alive. And along the way terrible secrets are revealing themselves that could rip their lives together apart. Patricia Rasey has penned an outstanding book! Fascade is a spine tingling read from start to finish with equal parts murder and romance. Ms. Rasey leads you to believe you know who the killer is, and then yanks your chain, and swings you in a whole other direction! You'll find yourself wondering who will be the next victim and in what atrocious way are they going to be murdered. The biggest mystery will be why?! You not only get a murder mystery in Fascade, but you also get a lot of great sexual tension between KC and Sharalee, that builds to it's climactic explosion right along with the murder and mayhem. I highly recommend Fascade to anyone who loves a good murder mystery. This is one book that will keep you guessing. If you are clever enough to figure out who did it, you still won't believe what you get hit in the face with at the end!

Very highly recommended

FAÇADE by Pat Rasey is a heart stopping, adrenaline-pumping novel that you dare not start at bedtime if you intend to be up in the morning. Addictive from the first shocking page, FAÇADE will reveal the dangers that lurk beneath the most innocent appearances.A murder stalks McCreary County, paying back old grudges born through many years. The first victim, George Stanton, is discovered days after his death hung with his crime nailed above his head: ADULTERY. As McCreary County's only homicide detective, KC Tanner quickly finds himself working the case with Sharlalee MacAruthur, McCreary County's victim advocate. KC has spent months trying to avoid the attractive young lady, despite his desire for her, because she also happens to be much younger and the daughter of his boss the sheriff. The day before the second body's discovered, KC sees the victim storming away from the Sherrif's office and heard the soon-to-be victim demanding protection. As the tangled threads of the story become gnarled, KC complicates his life even further by briefly giving into his desire for Sharl, despite his vows to stay away from her, and despite his suspicions that his boss has some hidden agenda regarding the case. When KC finds the Sherrif's deceased wife, and Sharl's mother, ties the victims together, as well as Black Magic crimson roses, the tangled webbing begins to unravel with unexpected results, leading to a past many would like to forget, including KC himself.Rasey has an extraordinary talent for creating characters with depth and complexity, while weaving a quick moving plot that lures the reader into a world of murder and intrigue. Extraordinarily, Rasey can capture the essence of a brutal murder all the while maintaining a sexy, lusty subplot with sharp quips counterbalanced by grace. While all of Rasey's novels are hits, this is the best one yet, earning a very highly recommended rating an award from WordWeaving.com.

Don't wait another minute to get it!!

In FACADE, Pat Rasey has outdone herself. At the very least, she has solidly rooted herself in the Horror/Thriller/Suspense genres. FACADE takes place in a small county where not much exciting has happened for years. It's peacefulness is the very reason KC Tanner chose it to live and work in. Of course, having lived there before is a plus....or is it? Being a good friend of his boss, Mike "Mac" MacArthur, isn't all fun and games for the serious deputy. Mac's daughter, Sharalee, has had a crush on KC since she was a very young girl. Now, grown up and determined to make KC notice her, she creates problems for him and, herself, that continue to make his life miserable. Sharalee's a Victim's Advocate, so when trouble starts, they are thrown together on the job. His love and respect for his boss is the only weapon he has to use against the beautiful woman. That, and a secret he hopes to carry with him to his death....because revealing it would cost him everything. Then people start dying the most horrible deaths in McCleary County. As the investigation continues, two things become increasingly clear to KC: 1)the murders are somehow connected to Mac and his deceased wife, and 2)he doesn't stand a snowball's chance of keeping his distance from Sharalee. He's forced into almost impossible situations with her and has no one to talk to but his priest. He also knows that no matter what he does he's going to lose the two people he loves more than anything else in the world. And sometimes, the answers aren't always as fulfilling as we'd like them to be.Pat Rasey has blown onto the Horror/Supense scene like a tornado, and she's here to stay. Every book she writes gets better and better. In FACADE, she has written a story that will have your hair standing on end. As your mind travels the maze of clues she so subtly lets slip, you will find yourself as frustrated as Mac and KC at who is doing all the killing--and why. Even if you guess who the killer is before it's revealed, you'll still be amazed at how beautifully she hid it from you for so long. This is a definite must-have for lovers of Horror/Suspense/Mystery. You won't be the least disappointed. I promise.

Facade Review

McCreary County Deputy Detective KC Tanner has his work cut out for him. A gruesome killer is on the loose in his county, bent on torturing to death his chosen victims and displaying each of them in a unique and baffling manner. Sharalee MacArthur is serving the County as Victim's Advocate. It is her job to deal with families of murder victims. The job is not easy, especially when having to deal with Detective Tanner. She's known him since she was a little girl, being the daughter of Sheriff Mike "Mac" MacArthur, KC's boss and best friend. Now she is all grown up and in hot pursuit of the handsome detective.KC is running for dear life from a past that is haunting him and from the one woman consuming his soul, jeopardizing his sworn-bachelor status. Sharlee has succeeded getting under his skin and evenutally he realizes how important she is to him. So important in fact that he takes the risk of revealing secrets which may jeopardize their relationship, as well as his relationship with her father. The case is taking its toll on all concerned. The few clues that are found, point to the one person KC can't believe is involved. So many secrets and lies float to the surface, shedding light on a past long forgotten and buried. Secrets that jeopardize new love, old friendships and the lives of the guilty. Not all are who they seem to be. Soon the killer focuses pent up rage on the ones hunting him, including Sharalee, who's life and identity are in danger of being lost forever. Only KC can bring all the clues together and save the woman he realizes he loves and can't survive without.Pat Rasey grows more and more adept in intricately weaving a complex, layered plot with flawed, yet lovable characters and a love story that will melt your heart. FACADE is by far the best work Rasey has written to date. Not only is this book overflowing with heart-pounding suspense and fascinating details of police forensics, but also gruesome minutiae of sadistic murder. And the love scenes are so scorchingly hot that they'll melt the paint off the walls. The intensity of her approach to her latest prose matches that of Diehl and Harris, so the squeamish beware. The pacing is fast and the writing is perfect. Not one word is wasted nor a moment dull. Thriller devotees will be up all night, as I was, riveted to this page-turner. Pat Rasey demonstrates yet again, why she's become an author to reckon with. ........
