I also came to this country not speaking any English and this book was so good! it brought back so many memories. I hope teachers and other people will read this book to get an idea what it is like for children who are in a new environment and language. thank you

I'm in the book business and follow book reviews quite closely. I'm always surprised at the sometimes lukewarm reviews Lee's books get. I know my daughter will read her books twelve, thirteen times while waiting for the next one to come out. The author definitely knows the kids' hearts, even if the reviewers don't...
GREAT book!

As always, I can't wait for the next Marie G. Lee book to come out. This one was fun, but touching, and really interesting.

This is an excellent book by one of my favorite authors. The story is true to life as are the characters' feelings and words. As the parent of a daughter who is adopted from Korea, I recommend this book. As a children's librarian, I give it five stars - Lee is an intuitive writer, her words ring true. Highly recommended by me.
