Riveting!

Mr. Johnson explores the spirit of a man, and his words are obviously excavated from the abyss of his soul! His book, EYES OF FAITH, was absolutely riveting! Each character possesses traits that anyone can relate to, and once you put the book down, you will be able to look back on your own life and realize you've met the following:Malcolm: a hot-tempered basketball player (or so the media would like you to think) who is coming of age spiritually. The highly dramatic journey he takes through heartbreak, tragedy, loss, successes and failures shows what he is made of. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks...by the end of the book, faith literally and figuratively have run his cup over as he embraces the anointing that God has placed on his lifeChuck D: a close friend that makes you wish you had enemies! A comical character who grew up with Malcolm on the basketball courtPenny: The epitome of the BET ghetto fabulous young lady...but will she sow what she has reaped?Nick (Nicole): the basketball player, down home, girl next door character who makes a brother want to get saved, settle down, and get a job--with benefits--to take care of someone like herFaith: This sister was BAD! I mean, she had the entire spiritual, physical, intellectual package hemmed up! The epitome of the Proverbs 31:10-31 type woman, with one exception: she can't cook! There are many other characters in this book that will make you want to unplug your phone, turn off the computer and TV, and curl up with this rare gem of an awesome tale! One of the best books I've ever read!

Eyes of Faith

This is a pretty good book about a black man struggling with finding love, physically and spiritually. The characters in the story were well developed and had you identifying with some of the characters because of their issues. When his best friend is gunned down as so many of our black men are today, I could understand why Mal wanted to repair the image/reputation of the black man. Through all of the trials that the main character went through, health, family, love he still manages to hold on to hope of making a difference in society. This is very fast pace book and the author make the story come to life with making the issues so real.

Eyes Of Faith

If you liked Shades Of Black, then you'll love Eyes Of Faith, a witty, yet hard-edged look at a black man's search for God, love and happiness in a society where the deck is stacked against him. The story starts with a bang and ends with a flourish, and is compelling enough to hold your attention throughout.Johnson's characters are lively, multifaceted and will remind you of people you know; they are "real people" struggling with real issues just like all of us. He cleverly mixes new characters, characters from Shades Of Black and celebrity cameos to create a diverse and lively ensemble.Johnson's writing style makes this book provocative, in-your-face and very tough to put down once you start reading.
