Extreme Office Crafts: Creative & Devious Ways to Waste Office Supplies & Company Time by Jimmy Knight was a very popular book at work. Everyone that looked though it laughed. And I can't help but look at normal office supplies in a totally different way. If you read this book, I can almost guarantee a run on the supply cabinet. This book has some of the best uses of office supplies I have ever seen. Are you stuck in a basement, with no windows (like I am)? Make your own "window" with some wooden rulers, a photo of an outdoor scene, a little glue, and a few other supplies. Need some protection while dealing with the office refrigerator? Make your own HazMat suit with bubble wrap. In a pinch for a Halloween costume for the office party? This book has several ideas. All by using common office supplies. But the one that still has me laughing are the Memo Face Clamps. A couple of photos of your boss or co-workers, some binder clips, and glue and you have "a creative way to interact with your fellow employees without actually having to talk to them." Priceless. This is an excellent book for anyone that works in Cubeville. There are many ideas that won't get you fired, but will provide you with laughs and conversational pieces. But if you do get fired, they have the solution - a false bottom box covered with your poor performance appraisals and negative memos. Perfect for getting more office supplies, and small electronic devices, out of the building. Every project shows you the finished product and easy step-by-step instructions. And there are hilarious comments peppered throughout. It is a fun, entertaining read that will provide you with hours of crafting at work. I never knew that the OfficeMax or Staples catalog was filled with such great items. You'll be ordering up a pallet of colored Post-it® Notes in no time. Just don't let the boss catch you.
Brilliantly funny!

I'm lucky to no longer be in America's corporate culture, but I'd say this book makes a GREAT gift for anyone who is! While I hope your job is meaningful and stimulating for you, the crafty ideas make use of all sorts of office supplies - including the spare time of any cubicle dweller. My favorite: The Computer Cafe: Use an old computer tower, empty it of all its outdated components, fill it with your favorite sugar fixes and stick it under your desk for a well-concealed stash! The book is probably not meant as a craft guide but a rather clever ray of sunshine in your artificially lit day! Enjoy! :-)
