The World's Best Writer of International Espionage Thrillers !

I have read them all ! You can praise Tom Clancy,Johanthan Quinn, Clive Cussler, Daniel Silva or Brad Thor, but you will discover that the WORLD'S GREATEST master spy and terrorist genre goes to Vince Flynn! Never has a writer matched his adrenalized, power-pumped, extremely action- paced novels! Vince Lynn's novels are indicative of a man of genius capabilities. No movie could actually capture the full essence of Exteme Measures' dynamically moving bombshell of military, counter-terrorism, and political intrigues ! When you further discovered that his books, especially this one, is a hot-seller among high school and college students, then you know that you have a helluva writer that transcends all audiences and readers. You can't go wrong in feeling compelled to read this novel from front to cover in one setting. From this amazing book, you will come about being better informed with a deeper and more in-depth awareness with a world view that is totally applicable and necessary for each and every one of our lives!

ANOTHER FABULOUS MITCH RAPP TALE!

Flynn never fails to entertain! Every book is a wonderful journey into behind the scenes government and terrorism. How I really wish there were people like Eileen Kennedy and Mitch Rapp. Unfortunately, our politicians have become so corrupt that they fail to understand the dangers of what they're doing and their PC attitudes. They have theirs...they have the best of health care, the best of retirement after only 6 years govt. service, the money rolls in, they become millionaires and they all want to stay in their jobs forever. Truth is, none of them deserve a penny of it. Vince Flynn was even told by the FBI to remove portions of his writing in MEMORIAL DAY because of it being too close to the truth. He refused under free speech laws and the book was printed. If you want some really great reading, get all of his books and read them in order, cover to cover. Great writing by a superb author!

More Maslick!

Reading Vince Flynn's gripping new novel Exteme Measures makes one very glad that people such as Rapp and Nash exist to help protect Americans from the ever present insidious threat of terrorism. From the outset the fast paced action is enthralling and indeed one cannot put the book down. Flynn develops characters in a brilliant and multi-faceted fashion and also introduces the new and tantalizing character Joe Maslick. We were propelled ahead hoping for more about this virile and enticing new agent. Obviously there will be much anticipated sequels to this book and we look forward to watching how Rapp and Nash balance their anti-terrorism vigilance and action with plain old American life. In Extreme Measures the balance was tipping despite their best efforts and they were hard pressed to continue their tight-rope walk. We can't wait to see which way they tip - towards the needs of their own and their families or towards selfless pursuit of safety and justice for all Americans--and where the elusive yet alluring Joe Maslick factors in.

A Little Different...but...perhaps helpful?

First off, I need to admit that short of a rabid stalker, there is probably no bigger fan of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series than I. That having been said... this one is, to me, a LOT different than what I had come to expect. This time, we get to see some hardcore political wrangling that likely mirrors what is actually happening on the Hill as time passes and many lose their stomach for war. This time, the perspective is much less first-person Mitch, and much more modern-age fable. We get to see the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly lock horns over a problem that is very much real, but growing more unpopular by the day. Don't get me wrong -- there is still plenty of action and you will still want to block out enough time to read in case, like me, you can't put the book down until you are finished. But I came away from this one feeling more that I had been reminded of a very important lesson than I had read about Mitch's latest exploits. There is much less smart-alecking (some may be happy about that), and given the shift in perspective, much less from Irene and Scott. But there are other characters that Flynn does as good a job in developing. In all, there is a very important, and very timely message in this book. Though I wish I could have had more "classic" Mitch (and am disappointed that I have to wait another year for more), I think this was the right book at the right time. If this would be your first VF book, I would strongly recommend you read earlier books first. If you are a rabid (or even a casual) fan, you should love this one. If you have been kind of turned off by some of the "over the top" antics in previous novels but like the overall character and concept, then give this on a try. It will be hard to be disappointed. I give it five of five because it is timely, it is a page-turner, and it is freaking Mitch Rapp! It wasn't quite what I thought I wanted, but it ended up being what I might have needed.
