Place to Start on Mesoamerica

A serious (Oxford, PhD) and comprehensive work (over 200 pages, over 100 images) that is a nice starting point. After all, this topic is thousands of years long over a vast landscape. Do you specialize in one culture or one geographic area? Pohl broke the book down by specific ancient sites. From way back when to the AD. If you are just starting your study but seeking an adult, scholarly monogram, this is an ideal book. Each chapter ends with list of vetted and respected other literature. Pohl's recommendations are all sound and provides the reading path forward, based on more focused penetration. Highly recommend this as your place to start.
