What a useful book. Had it in my pocket in Kamakura.

There is so much to see in Kamakura. This book was an indespensible guide. I combined it with the Japanese material my wife had, but I found this book more useful. This was my third trip to Kamakura and this book led me to things I didn't even know existed (I would definitely reccomend the hiking trails) as well as explain the significance and story behind what I was seeing. I lived in Japan for several years and speak the language pretty well. This book really helped me to understand Kamakura from a non-Japanese point of view rather than only reading the Japanese material. Couldn't possible give a higher reccomendation.
