Great price for a college textbook : )

At my University bookstore they sell used copies of this text for $78. I haven't read much of the book yet, but I am very happy to have gotten a new copy for much less than that!

Outstanding text for beginning teachers

This text is definitely not your run of the mill textbook. It offers insightful discussion and promotes critical debate. I'd recommend it for ANYONE who wants a better understanding of how our educational system got to where it's at now.
