Best Animation Book for 3D

I mean it - this is the best animation book for 3D. I learned about wave theory - and it makes perfect sense. My demo reel got an interview today - and I credit this book. Thank you!!!!

great models

I appreciate this book because it supplies you with great models to work with. I have been frustrated by the books that require you to build complex models before getting to animate them. The flour sack has a cool sculpt deformer in it to allow an animator to get more bulk in certain positions. The generi rig has a lot of wonderful controls for the face and fingers. I enjoy working with these rigs. The theory on movement stuff is really great. The movments are broken down into a process, and I find myself working through movement studies rather quickly. I got more than my monies worth.

animation book about animation

I have been buying every 3D book with 'animation' in the title, only to find these books are about rigging or modeling. This book really is about movement and what to do in maya to make it believable. I wish it was more advanced, or had a few more chapters, because it just started to get going after chapter 5 (chapters previous to 4 would be helpful to newbies in animation - explaining the graph editor and how to manipulate it). I have been working in 3D for a while, and still learned a lot. I would be very interested in a follow up book.

solid

good book. combines 2d theory with 3d software technology and makes sense. wish i had this three years ago. book provides two rigs to work with, so you dont have to mess with making your own. i hate rigging. this book let me get down to making stuff move.

awesome

This went into theory of movement, and how to put it with 3D. I have not found another book like this. I bought it because I liked the modeling book they wrote - but this one is way better. It gives a great tutorial on the walk cycle - and WHY different parts move as they do. The theory stuff is worth every cent - and the fact that they apply it to Maya makes doing it easy. I found the tutorials helpful and easy to follow. I would love some more reference videos in a more advanced book. I would like to see another book like this on advanced animation.
