A comprehensive guide to exploring the many outdoor recreation opportunities in and around Glacier National Park and Montana's Flathead Valley with an emphasis on natural history and geology.
I found that this book provides much additional information about Glacier National Park and the surrounding Flathead Valley that I was not able to find in other books. For example, I was very pleased to read about hiking the Jewel Basin, and now knowing how to get there, with some trail descriptions. And I learned more about activites on Flathead Lake. The book briefly describes different outdoor activities available in the area, such as biking, fishing, boating, skiing, hunting, kayaking, and floating, although in a brief form; not thoroughly extensive. There is lots of information on hiking, but I require another hiking book for more details. It also provides educational information on wildlife, fires, ecology, and history. It is NOT an information guide for lodging and dining. Combined together with the Insiders Guide to Glacier National Park and the Hiking Glacier and Waterton Lakes National Parks Falcon Guide, I think Explore Glacier National Park helps make a complete set of a wide range of information.
