Amazing gift for the mother-to-be!

This book is very personal and similar to a daily devotional/journal....it doesn't take long to read and jot a few things down. It makes you think about and pray over aspects of the blessed baby that you have never thought of. The book gives developmental information every step of the way...so, you are learning, praying, and pondering. If received later in the pregnancy, the mom-to-be can go backwards also but it is a great gift to give in the early stages of her pregnancy.

A Must Have for Pregnancy

Expecting: Praying for Your Child's Development - Body and Soul by Marla Taviano is truly a WONDERFUL book! This little book is power-packed and full of wisdom. It goes through pregnancy week by week, for all forty weeks, with a snippet of mommy's and baby's development for that week. It also includes a quote and Scripture verse pertinent for that week, and a prayer for the baby. Each week, or chapter, covers a specific topic, from the release of the egg, to conception, to hands, gender, vocal cords, hearing, organs, bone marrow, face, etc. At the end of each chapter there is a page for writing your thoughts, memories, reflections, verses you like, etc. Expecting is a must have book for any pregnant woman, or any woman who is trying to conceive. In fact, it would be the perfect pregnancy gift, but don't wait until the shower, because you wouldn't want her to miss all of the prayers and scriptures from the earlier weeks. I absolutely love this book! I only wish it would have been available when I was expecting my little one!

She's done it AGAIN!

This is an absolutely beautiful book that makes the PERFECT gift to give to someone who has just announced their pregnancy! It is not too wordy, brief-yet with enough info and well written! My favorite part is how it is broken down in every week of pregnancy. Marla has written beautiful prayers to read for your child, has appropriate scriptures for each week and even a small section to journal your thoughts! Oh...AND she includes the important stuff of what is going on with your baby week by week! I just received mine and I'm 34 weeks pregnant. I LOVE it!! Just wish it came out when I first found out when I was pregnant! I loved it so much I've already given it away for as gift!!!

A Wonderful Companion Book

"Expecting" should rightly be a companion book for expectant mothers and grandmothers, an excellent, practical, and personal guide through a pregnancy. It is nicely formatted and illustrated. Best, though, is that it gives moms and grandmoms in waiting a real idea of what the baby is doing developmentally, physically, and mentally; the changes mom is going through that very week, and guides all in praying for the very needs of that week's changes and progress! I certainly wish that I'd had this book some three years (and again two years) ago, to have had this tour through my daughter-in-law's pregnancies and how I could specifically pray for her, and my granddaughters. I've purchased several, as a start, to give to newly-expectant moms, and their mothers and mothers-in-law.
