A renegade asteroid hits the Moon disintegrating it into bits of rock and dust that get carried away in the asteroids' tail. Earth begins experiencing some very strange and lethal effects. There is no high tide, no moonlit skies and worse of all there is no control over the destiny of Earth or mankind. It's a race against time to find an alterative means of survival.With the Moon now gone, the Earth moves farther from the Sun with each passing day, slowly freezing the planet. Life on Earth has halted. Government forces around the globe devise a plan to evacuate to a life-sustaining planet. The human race, in an attempt to avoid extinction, must join together and contribute resources and knowledge in an effort to execute that plan.Earth, however, has other plans. The rapidly changing environment takes everyone by surprise, complicating the effort to evict Earth. Like everyone else, Kal Cyrano, his wife Jamie and son Max are ordered to contribute in the mass eviction. Yet, when earthquakes destroy their chances of escaping Earth, Kal is forced to find another way. Determined to save his family, he stumbles upon a civilization unlike his own. Will the people of this new civilization assist in the survival of Kal's world or will they be the sole contributors in Earth's demise.
