wonderfully nostalgic

I enjoyed this book very much. The reader is transported back in time to an age of innocence and wonder. I very much enjoyed the stories of a little boy pondering the mysteries of the future. The people and places are so real, you can almost see them. I heartily recommend this book. It is inspiring and humorous at the same time.

Wonderful tales of folksy humor and nostalgia

Growing up in the Southern States, reading and listening to Lewis Grizzard, the guru of Southern speak, this book continues in that vain. Southern writers and speakers have always had a rich vocabulary of oral tradition to draw from, and this book is no exception. The stories are rich in Southern culture and are drawn from personal experience of a life well lived.
