This is a fun book that answers such questions as 'why did my cat just bring me a dead bird', and 'can you teach a cat tricks'. There are pictures throughout that keep it interesting, and wacky facts such as: the worlds largest cat lived in Australia and weighed 47 pounds. He had a 33 inch waist and lived to be 10 years old. Beyond the content, one of the main things you need to know is that the book was written for children reading at the 6th Grade Level. [You can always read it to younger children of course, but if you want your child to read it him/her-self, keep this in mind.] Four Stars [ B+] This is a fun book for older children. There are small pictures and 'strange and wacky' facts that keep it lively and entertaining. Resources are listed at the back. The Accelerated Reading/ATOS designation is 6.1; and the book worked pretty well for us to spice up a class project on cats. Pam T~
