A sharp-tongued fairy tale about a man who transforms himself into the man ofeveryone's dreams--except for his lover. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I picked this book up at a bookstore, knowing that I needed something to read before I went to sleep. BOY was I up late with this one. This was a great read. The story was fun, interesting, and hard to put down. Definitely read this book before you go to bed. A++++++++
Plain and simple yet entertaining and truthful

A very wholesome story. The author was successful in pointing out discrimination (age, beauty, lifestyle, fashion, etc.) and stereotyping within the gay community, which is one of the striking realities of gay life (everywhere!). Simple use of language (and sometimes funny gay remarks). Though it's a "happily ever after" kind of story, there's truth in it. However, it may be quite difficult for someone who have never been or not familiar with the San Francisco area to relate. I recommended this book to all my friends. Outland did a great job!

I laughed. I cried. Yes, that sounds trite, but in this case it's true. I found this to be a page turner I couldn't put down. Real and perhaps uncomfortably close to home, it's consumately timely and a great read.
Hysterical and romantic, not corny.

A must read! A true romantic novel, but not corny like most other romances are. The comical parts made me laugh out loud, and the sad parts brought a tear to my eye. Loved the ending and all the wonderful characters.

If you know Orland Outland from his Doan McCandler transvestite murder mysteries, be prepared for a surprise. Every Man For Himself is a compulsively readable account of what happens to a young gay man when he gets his life back - and hadn't prepared for it. Richer and a lot darker than the Doan McCandler series, the novel has more than a ring of truth about it, exposing with candour and searing accuracy the contradictory needs and desires of all of us in the post-AIDS era.
