Ending made this story good.

Having read the previous 2 in this trilogy, I was expecting the same. But in this one The couple were a ghost & a young woman, Wolfe & Miranda. It took me some time to finish this book, but I persevered. It wasn't until 3/4's of the way through that I really start to enjoy reading it & I finished it in a few short hours. I loved Wolfe's character, but I think Miranda was a bit childish. When we 1st meet her she is only 20. The evil protagonists spoiled the story for me. Miranda's aunt & her son trying to control her for her trustfund, which she would recieve when she is 30. Having her committed because of Wolfe. Wolfe's ghostly enemy who was influencing his decendants to do what he wanted. There are some excellent secondary characters including Wolfe's ghostly crew, Tina & her grandfather. They made the story good & the ending was perfect.

Eternal Sea

I highly recommend this book for people who believe that love is forever. I really like this author and have already started to buy all her romatic novels written. There is sadness, happiness, laughter and romance all in this story. I have already shared the book to my friends and as I said they love it.

Enchanting, humorous, and romantic

I wasn't too sure about the book because of the cover. But after I started to read it, it was terrific. I couldn't put it down. The characters were believable and I especially love the hero, who was very strong but at the same time sensitive. I love the humor and the drama and the romance. You really hope that they will get together at the end of the story and you know that they will but it was great reading how Alfonsi put the story together. I very highly recommend this book.

If you believe...

This was a truly charming tale. When reading it I was struck by the very unusualness of the story. Never before have I read a romance novel that delt with the sea and the ships and ghosts consigned to serve her in their after life. Miranda, is only twenty years old and at times, says and does things that are rather childish, but maybe that's expected in a girl who has just left her teen years. Maybe its her youth, maybe its the tales of the sea that her father told her before his death, what ever it is, it alows her to see Eric when know one else has been able to. In reading this novel one can realize that all the wonders of the world and all its mysteries are just waiting for you, if you only you believe...

Superb ghostly romance

On New Year's Eve, 1849, Eric Wolfe knows he is dying from the wounds delivered by Muldavey's thugs even as he staggers towards his beloved sea. Being a superstitious sailor, Eric fears that his soul will be lost forever if he fails to have the Last Rites performed on him. Eric, who has said the words so many times before when any of his own men was dying, struggles with the prayer before falling into the sea. In 1989 Connecticut, Miranda Burke mourns the loss of her father. Living with her aunt and uncle, she finds solace at sea. However, when she goes outdoors this time she sees a nineteenth century Yankee clipper just as those depicted in her father's texts. Even stranger, Miranda meets Eric, who has been a ghostly traveler for the past one-hundred forty years. In spite of their obvious differences, the pair begins to fall in love. However, if an evil spirit from Eric's mortal days has his way, Eric and Miranda will be doomed to a hell of eternal separation. The third novel in Alice Alfonsi's wonderful "Eternal" series is a hauntingly beautiful love story that will exhilarate fans of supernatural romance. The story line is fast-paced and action packed as Ms. Alfonsi effortlessly makes the unreal seem so real. The lead characters are wonderful and readers will want to go on a sea cruise with the valiant Eric. The ignoble villain is as loathsome a cretin to appear in print in some time. Sub-genre fans who enjoy a ghostly romantic tale need to peruse this novel and its two predecessors (ETERNAL LOVE and ETERNAL VOWS) for stupendous specter stories.Harriet Klausner
